WATER by Megan Quigley, Bettws Primary School

Water is lovely
Water is nice
When it gets cold
It turns into ice
I drink lots of water
Because it keeps me alive
Without drinking water
I would not survive

We need it to clean with
We need it to drink
We need it to wash
All the dishes in the sink
When I see water
I just want to swim
Because swimming in water
Will be me slim

When I see water
I just want to drink
Without any water
I just couldn't think
So thank God for water
He sends it with rain
Everyone loves water
Even though it's a pain

WATER by Jessica Auld (7) Bettws Primary School

Water is nasty and water is nice.
It can warm my bath or turn into ice.

It can be salty and blue,
That's called the sea.
Or be fluffy white snowballs
My sister throws at poor me.

In water lives life, fishes and things,
I'm made of water, amongst other things!

WATER IS EVERYWHERE by Sophie Keylock, Bettws Primary School

We need water to wash our face
We need water all over the place
It helps our flowers grow and grow
And when it's cold it falls as snow.

We need water to swim in our pool
We need water to keep us cool
When the sun is hot and bright
There's nothing better than a water fight

We need water to wash our clothes
We need water as everyone knows
It's good for or teeth and stops decay
So everyone shout "Hip, Hip, Hooray!"

Hero of Death and Glory by Sebastian, Builth Wells

Chapter One

It starts like this. There was a boy called Tom. Tom liked to play in the ruins of an old castle. One day Tom and his friends went to the castle, Tom saw something shining on the ground so he picked it up. To his amazement he had found a golden crown. He put it on his head then suddenly a humungous wormhole sucked them in ………………

Chapter two

Tom found himself in a black smiths forge. It was dark and smoky and the smell of charcoal was pungent. Suddenly the royal messenger burst through the door!!
"His majesty wishes to speak to you." Tom looked around and realised that the messenger was addressing him. Tom followed him, leaving his friends behind. Soon he could see the castle. He came to the moat. The messenger said, " Down with the draw bridge up with the portcullis. " Tom went up the stairs to the Throne Room. The king told Tom that there was great evil in the world! And they must stop it. The next day one thousand soldiers marched out through the gate to face the evil enemy and their leader Sir Ozergarf. Suddenly they were ambushed by goblins. "Archers fire" exclaimed Tom. Within a moment half of the goblins were dead.
The rest of the goblins retreated. They did not have a chance for on the other side of the hill were Toms friends and three thousand knights in shining gold armour. The goblins got slaughtered.

Chapter Three

Tom and his friends re-united together. Soon they could see the first defence of the boggy lowlands, so they brought in the siege equipment and bashed down the wall. Tom was expecting a strong defence from behind the demolished wall. "Attack", exclaimed a troll.
Swords were clashing and screams of death rang out through the air. Suddenly a catapult fired a huge bolder which hit a wall smashing it in to pieces crushing most of the enemy below. As the sun began to set, Tom and his men were exhausted after the day's battle. Tom saw some caves on a rocky ledge and ordered the men to sleep there. The archers slept at the top and foot solders slept at the bottom. Tom and his friends slept in the highest cave.

Chapter Four

Thump thump, " Wake- up!! Wake- up!! The enemy are attacking". The archers were firing. Row upon row of the enemy fell to the ground dead!!!! The trolls advanced smashing ten men at a time with their huge spiked clubs!!! Tom spotted the leader of the trolls he picked up a crossbow and aimed straight between the troll's eyes. Whoosh! Tom fired the arrow straight and the troll fell lifeless to the ground. Tom told the archers to aim at the heads of the trolls. The trolls were all dead in fifteen minutes each with seventeen arrows in their heads. Little did they know that five hundred goblins were climbing up the other side of the cliff armed with deadly weapons?

Chapter Five

Soon the goblins were in some of the caves. Calaverion, the leader of the pike men said to his army "Kill all, leave none alive!" It was not easy but his army slaughtered them. "The battle is won!!" soon they were on the march. Soon a messenger from an army that had recently attacked said " you will all die there are thousands of them". They soon could see the first outer wall and were quickly taking the first wall. They were attacking the second wall. The amount of carnage on the top of the wall was amazing. They could see the causeway. Tom and his men ran up the causeway. Suddenly one of the enemy's catapults fired and well I can't tell you otherwise your parents might not let you read this book!!

Trevor's Plane

One day Trevor was tidying his cupboard, when he found his old plane.
"I' ve been looking for this!" said Trevor.
He went outside to play with his plane. Trevor ran with it, he played with it AND HE THREW IT!. It landed in a tree.
"Oh no." said Trevor. He sat down on the grass to think. How could he get his plane back down?. Then Trevor had an idea. He walked up to the tree and shook it. But Trevor's plane would not come down. So he shook it again, but still he could not get his plane to come down. So Trevor thought again. He grabbed a long stick and poked the plane with it. But the plane still would not come down. But Trevor had another idea. So Trevor decided to climb the tree. But when Trevor got to the top he found that he couldn't reach his plane. Trevor sat down and cryed. He had tryed so many diffrent things, but his plane would not come down. When Trevor's Dad heard him crying, he ran outside and asked him what was the matter.
"I can't get my plane out of the tree," said Trevor sadly. So Trevor's Dad went and got the ladder brought Trevor's plane back down.

Snow!

I've been waiting for a big blizzard for years. Since I was little. Well one day while I was asleep flakes of snow landed softly in the grass all night. When I woke up they said on the radio we had no school. I slowly crept to the window hoping I wouldn't scream. And there I saw it, right in front of my eyes. A blizzard. Little silent screams floated gently out of my mouth. My dad already awake told me we could go sledding. " But not today! The roads are closed until further notice." So the rest of the day I played and played until 9:00 PM. Then I came inside and looked on the Internet. No school for a week. I screamed. I finally got my BLIZZARD!!!!
