My first book for Hodder with Anne, my old editor from Random House. I got the largest advance so far for this book (£7500) which unfortunately didn't pay off for Hodder as it sold very few foreign editions. This was largely due to it's sparse text which perversely meant that foreign publishers were less keen to buy it. You would think with less words to translate it would be the other way round but apparently foreign publishers tend to do their own short text stories...
